Mr. Hyungki Cho is a leading figure in the development of Pencak Silat in East Asia, known for his multifaceted contributions as an athlete, coach, referee, and sports administrator. Since beginning his journey in 2010, he has played a pivotal role in establishing and expanding Pencak Silat in South Korea and across the region.
He founded the Korea Pencak Silat Federation (KPSF) in 2014, which is officially recognized by the International and Asian Pencak Silat governing bodies. Under his leadership, the federation has grown steadily, contributing to the sport’s visibility and structured development in East Asia.
Mr. Cho has served as the National Head Coach of the Korea Pencak Silat National Team, leading athletes in numerous prestigious international competitions. His expertise extends beyond coaching into officiating, where he is recognized as an International Referee (Class 3), contributing to global standards of fairness and technical excellence.
In addition to his technical and administrative roles, he has organized major international and continental championships, strengthening Korea’s position in the global Pencak Silat community. His leadership roles have included President of KPSF, Chairman of the East Asia Pencak Silat Federation, and Vice President of the Asian Pencak Silat Federation.
He is also actively involved in education and training, serving as a Trainer of Trainers (TOT) and lecturer in referee and coaching development programs. His contributions extend into self-defense instruction for military, law enforcement, and international martial arts organizations.
Through his dedication, Mr. Cho continues to contribute to the research, development, and global advancement of Pencak Silat.
