INTRODUCTION
Pencak Silat is an intangible cultural heritage of the Indonesian nation, recognized by UNESCO as part of Indonesia’s national identity and humanity’s shared cultural heritage. Along with the development of modern times, Pencak Silat has evolved into a competitive achievement sport on the global stage.
As part of the effort to preserve, develop, and promote Pencak Silat internationally, we are organizing the “4th International Indonesian Open 2026.” This championship is designed to provide a platform for athletes from around the world to demonstrate their best abilities, uphold the values of sportsmanship, and strengthen friendship and brotherhood among nations through the spirit of Pencak Silat.
CHAPTER II: OBJECTIVES OF THE EVENT
1. Cultural Preservation
To introduce and preserve the noble values of Pencak Silat as Indonesia’s cultural heritage to the international community.
2. Sporting Achievement
To provide a world-class competitive platform for Pencak Silat athletes to measure their abilities and achieve international excellence.
3. Cultural Diplomacy
To strengthen diplomatic relations and friendship among nations through cultural exchange in sports.
4. Tourism Promotion
To promote Indonesia’s tourism potential, particularly Jakarta, as a center for the development of Pencak Silat worldwide.
