About Member

Ms. Jamin Florence Hartinie is a distinguished international Pencak Silat leader, combining over four decades of experience as an athlete, referee, coach, administrator, and policy advisor. Her contributions span grassroots development, international officiating, governance, and global promotion of Pencak Silat.

She began her competitive journey with notable success, securing a Gold Medal at the 1st National Pencak Silat Championship (Junior Female 60kg) in 1987 and a Silver Medal at the 3rd National Championship in 1989. These early achievements laid the foundation for her lifelong dedication to the sport.

Ms. Hartinie currently serves as Chairwoman of the Promotion and Marketing Division of PERSILAT, where she plays a key role in strengthening global visibility, strategic outreach, and international cooperation. She is also an International Referee & Jury (Class 3) and a certified Trainer of Trainers (TOT), contributing to the development and standardization of officiating and coaching worldwide.

At the continental and national levels, she serves as Vice President of the Pencak Silat Federation of the Americas (PSFA) and Executive President of the Suriname Pencak Silat Association (SPSA). As the founder and chief instructor of the Pencak Silat school Kilat Buwana, she has directly contributed to the development of hundreds of practitioners and multiple affiliated branches across Suriname.

 

Her work extends beyond sport into policy and social development. She has served as a Policy Advisor to the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs in Suriname and is actively engaged in initiatives promoting gender equality, youth empowerment, and cultural preservation through sport.
