The Russian Pencak Silat Federation (RPSF) was established in 2003 through a collaborative initiative that highlighted strong international cooperation between Russia and Indonesia. The formation of the federation was initiated with the support of the Indonesian Embassy, reflecting a shared commitment to promoting Pencak Silat beyond its traditional roots.
A key role in the establishment of RPSF was played by Eddie Nalapraya, representing the International Pencak Silat Federation (PERSILAT), alongside Valeriy Maistrovoy, who contributed from the Russian side as a leading figure in martial arts development.
Since its foundation, the Russian Pencak Silat Federation has maintained active cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy, fostering cultural exchange and strengthening bilateral ties through sport. This partnership has played a vital role in introducing, developing, and promoting Pencak Silat across Russia.
Through its continued efforts, RPSF has contributed to the expansion of Pencak Silat in the region, creating opportunities for athletes, coaches, and practitioners while aligning with international standards and the broader global Silat community.
