The Portugal Pencak Silat Federation (PPSF) is the national governing body dedicated to the promotion and development of Pencak Silat in Portugal. The sport was first introduced in the country in 2020 with the establishment of its initial training schools, marking the beginning of a new and growing martial arts community.
A significant milestone in the federation’s journey was achieved on 5 November 2024, when it received official recognition from PERSILAT, integrating Portugal into the global Pencak Silat network and enabling participation in international events and development programs.
Despite being relatively new, the federation has already made progress on the international stage, currently supporting 5 international-level athletes along with 1 internationally recognized coach. This reflects a focused effort toward building competitive excellence and technical standards.
With committed leadership and growing participation, the Portugal Pencak Silat Federation continues to lay a strong foundation for the future of Pencak Silat in Portugal, contributing to its expansion across Europe and the wider global community.
