Pencak Silat Federation of the Americas (PSFA) is the official continental governing body representing Pencak Silat across North and South America. It serves as the regional representative of the International Pencak Silat Federation (PERSILAT), working to promote, develop, and regulate the art and sport throughout the Americas.
Established following a 2018 directive by PERSILAT, PSFA was formed to unify all affiliated national federations in the Americas under a single regional structure. Its primary objective is to strengthen the presence of Pencak Silat by organizing continental championships, tournaments, training programs, and technical development initiatives on behalf of PERSILAT.

About Pencak Silat
Pencak Silat is a traditional martial art originating from the Southeast Asian region historically known as Nusantara, encompassing countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Philippines. It is a complete martial system that combines strikes, kicks, grappling, throws, and weaponry, known for its fluid, dynamic, and artistic movements. Today, it is recognized globally as both a cultural heritage and a modern competitive sport.
Role of PERSILAT
The International Pencak Silat Federation (PERSILAT) oversees the global development of Pencak Silat, with membership spanning over 50 countries. It sanctions national and regional bodies like PSFA and organizes major international competitions, including World Championships and multi-sport events such as the Southeast Asian Games and Asian Games, while working toward Olympic recognition.
