About Federation

The Japan Pencak Silat Association (JAPSA) is the official body responsible for the promotion and development of Pencak Silat in Japan. Established in 1996, the association has been instrumental in introducing and nurturing the growth of this traditional Southeast Asian martial art within Japan.

Recognized by the Japan Martial Arts Games Association, JAPSA operates within the broader framework of martial arts development in the country. It focuses on expanding awareness, organizing training programs, and supporting athletes and practitioners in both cultural and competitive aspects of Pencak Silat.

Through its continued efforts, the Japan Pencak Silat Association contributes to strengthening the presence of Pencak Silat in East Asia, while maintaining strong connections with the international Silat community and upholding the values of discipline, respect, and cultural exchange.
