About Federation

The Egyptian Pencak Silat Association (EPSA) is the official body responsible for the promotion and development of Pencak Silat in Egypt. The sport was introduced in 2010 and has since experienced significant growth across the country.

EPSA has developed a strong national structure, currently comprising:

  • Perguruans (Schools): 7
  • Athletes: 1,210 (810 male, 400 female)
  • Coaches: 15
  • Referees: 10
  • Jurors: 25

The federation became a Junior Member of PERSILAT in 2014 and was elevated to Associated Member status on 5 April 2021, marking its growing recognition within the international Silat community.

Egypt has actively participated in international competitions, including the World Pencak Silat Championship 2024 in Abu Dhabi, further strengthening its presence on the global stage.

With a rapidly expanding athlete base and structured development system, the Egyptian Pencak Silat Association continues to play a key role in advancing Pencak Silat in North Africa and contributing to its worldwide growth.
