The Azerbaijan Pencak Silat Federation (APSF) was established in Baku, marking an important step in the development and promotion of Pencak Silat in the region. Since its inception, APSF has played a key role in introducing, organizing, and expanding the sport within Azerbaijan, while aligning with international standards and the global Silat community.
The leadership of APSF has evolved through dedicated individuals who have contributed significantly to its growth and institutional strength:
- 2009 – 2015: Ilham Ragimov served as the founding President, laying the foundation for the federation and initiating the development of Pencak Silat in Azerbaijan.
- 2015 – 2022: Ceyhun Ashrafov led the federation through a period of expansion, strengthening its organizational structure and increasing participation.
- 2022 – Present: Magami Bayramov currently heads APSF, continuing efforts to promote the sport, enhance athlete development, and elevate Azerbaijan’s presence in international competitions.
Through consistent leadership and a clear vision, the Azerbaijan Pencak Silat Federation continues to build a strong platform for athletes, coaches, and officials, contributing to the global growth of Pencak Silat.
