About Federation

Australian Pencak Silat Federation (APSF) is the official national governing body representing the traditional martial art of Pencak Silat across Australia and the Oceania region. Established in 2010, APSF is formally sanctioned by the International Pencak Silat Federation (PERSILAT), ensuring its alignment with international standards and the global Silat community.

APSF serves as the central authority responsible for the development, regulation, and promotion of Pencak Silat in Australia. The federation is dedicated to preserving the authenticity, diversity, and rich cultural heritage of various Silat styles while providing a structured platform for growth at both grassroots and elite levels.

The vision and objectives of APSF focus on supporting the wide range of traditional and modern Silat practices, fostering inclusivity, and strengthening the presence of Pencak Silat as both a cultural art form and a competitive sport. Through national championships, training programs, coaching education, and athlete development pathways, APSF actively works to elevate the standard of Pencak Silat across the region.

By promoting discipline, respect, cultural appreciation, and sporting excellence, the Australian Pencak Silat Federation continues to play a pivotal role in expanding the reach of Silat in Oceania and preparing athletes to compete successfully on the international stage.
