The Armenia Pencak Silat Federation (APSF) was established in early 2019 in Armenia under the leadership of Artur Sedrakyan, with the objective of promoting and developing Pencak Silat while fostering discipline, sportsmanship, and fighting spirit among youth.
To ensure proper technical development and alignment with international standards, the federation formally engaged with the International Pencak Silat Federation (PERSILAT). Following this initiative, a delegation of four experts was sent to Armenia, led by Sheik Alau\\\’ddin Yacoob Marican. The delegation included an instructor specializing in rules, a referee, and a secretary, aimed at building foundational knowledge and organizational structure.
During the five-day visit, comprehensive training and orientation sessions were conducted. At the conclusion of the program, official certificates were awarded to instructors, along with the formal appointment certificate recognizing the President of the Armenia Pencak Silat Federation. The visit also symbolized the beginning of Armenia’s integration into the international Pencak Silat community.
Through its structured beginnings, international collaboration, and focus on youth development, the Armenia Pencak Silat Federation continues to establish and strengthen the presence of Pencak Silat in Armenia.
